Do Not Be Overcome by Sin -God promises that his followers will overcome sin if they are willing to sacrifice their time to him. This comes from the idea of self-control as a result of thinking long term instead of short term.
Be Generous – We can only receive back what we give away; therefore Christians should be generous with everything including food, drink sex possessions or money: “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit.. Each one should look not only to his own interests but also to the interest of others.

Paul felt that forgiveness was an important component of the Christian faith. Forgiveness was not only an act that one does for another, but it is also a virtue to be exhibited by Christians toward themselves as well (see Matthew 18:21-35).
