And I think I may have come up with an answer.
First of all, we have to understand that our hearts are not naturally inclined towards love. In fact, the Bible tells us that our hearts are deceitful and wicked (Jeremiah 17:9). So if we want our hearts to become like God’s heart, it’s going to take some effort on our part.
We have to choose to love others even when it’s hard. We have to be patient, kind, and forgiving even when people don’t deserve it. But it’s so worth it, because when our hearts start mimicking the love of God, we begin to experience His joy and peace in a whole new way.
Additionally, as we become more like Him, we start reflecting His character to those around us and pointing them toward Him. So if you’re wondering how you can make your heart more like God’s heart, just start by choosing to love others well. It won’t be easy, but it will be so worth it in the end.
